Paradis Golf Club is located on the south west coast of Mauritius on a wonderful resort called Paradis Beachcomber. It is close to the sea and has some wonderful views from the course. I played the course during the summer of 2022. We stayed at Heritage Awali which also has a golf course connected to it. You can read my experience playing Heritage here.

Hole 1
The first hole is a par 4 measuring 340 meters from the white tees. It is a dogleg left to right with trees on both sides of the fairway. There is a well placed bunker in the landing area.
I hit my driver into the left hand rough and was blocked out from a direct shot towards the green. I had to lay up. After my approach shot I 2 putted for an opening bogey on the first hole.
HOLE 2

The second hole is another par 4 measuring 350 meters. A straight forward hole where I managed to find the fairway from the tee, but missed the GIR. This resulted in a bogey on the second hole.
HOLE 3

The 3rd hole is a short par 3 with well placed bunkers on both sides of the green. It is protected by the trees but the wind is playing a significant factor and makes the shot more challenging then it looks.
HOLE 4

Hole 4 on Paradis golf club is one of my favourite on the course. It is a strong and challenging par 5 with great views of Le Morne when you reach the green. The fairway is protected by bunkers and trees so you really need a good drive to setup your second shot. I missed my tee shot left and just played safely back to fairway and had a 8 iron into the wind. There is water in front of the green but it is not really in play if you hit a decent approach shot. I ended on the front edge of the green and 2 putted for par.
HOLE 6, short par 3 on Canyamel Golf

Hole 6 is another short par 3 playing around 120m. I hit a 9 iron to the middle of green and made par.
HOLE 7

Paradis Golf club hole 7 is yet another really good par 5. A straight drive and a dogleg right approach over the trees to the green. I hit a solid drive and hit a 4 iron to the green. Came up just short of the green to setup a decent opportunity for a birdie. My chip shot was not good enough and I had to settle for a par.
HOLE 8

Hole 8 is a short par 4 with water in play from the tee and towards to green. The wind was strong against when I played but you can probably go for the green when the wind is right. I played safe with a 4 iron from the tee and had a wedge to the green. My approach was long and I made a poor bogey on a straight forward par 4.
HOLE 9, the hardest hole on Paradis Golf Club

The 9th hole is index 1 on the course and with good reason. It is a long par 4 with water all the to the green on the right hand side. The wind plays a significant role on this hole and really requires some good shots to score well. I hit my drive left and could not reach the green in 2. I had to lay up close to the water and ended up with a bogey. It is a really good hole and challenging.
BACK NINE ON PARADIS GOLF CLUB
HOLE 10

The 10th hole was my worst hole on the course. A short par 4 where I hit my drive way to the left. I made double bogey which was mainly due to poor course management.
HOLE 11

Hole 11 is a another short 4 and pretty straight. The wind was strong into and after a decent tee shot I still had a 7 iron to the green. I hit a really good approach shot to setup a great birdie opportunity which I missed.
HOLE 13

A nice view back down the 13th hole.
HOLE 15

The 15th hole is the easiest hole on the course and a short par 5 playing just over 400m. I missed my drive way left again which resulted in a penalty. I managed to save my par after a superb approach shot.
HOLE 17

The 17th hole is an amazing hole right by the water. It takes you out to edge of the course where you really feel the wind. It is a par 5 playing 424m. It is challenging all the way from the tee box to the green. I hit my drive in the left hand bunker and played a lay up. There is water running across the fairway on the approach and some good bunkering around the green. I was too aggressive with my approach shot and came up short in the bunker which resulted in a bogey.
HOLE 17

17th is a stunning little par 3 with fantastic views of the beach and ocean.
HOLE 18

The finishing hole is a short dogleg par 4 and where I made my only birdie of the day. I hit a really good driver from the tee which left a gap wedge to the green. My approach shot was right on the pin and setup a tab in birdie. A nice way to finish the round.
MY EXPERIENCE
Paradise Golf club in Mauritius is situated in a stunning location by the southwest coastline. It will never be a championship course but for holiday golf it is really good. The practice facilities are nice and the course is both fun and challenging. The resort is also worth a visit. It has some of the best beaches, great restaurants and high service levels. I was happy with my 79 which was mainly ruined by the double bogey on number 10.
We had lunch several times at the resort and the family really enjoyed the location. Most likely a place we would stay next time we visit Mauritius.
