Osaka Golf Club is located on the south side of Osaka, Japan. It is close to the sea and has some wonderful views from the course. I played the course during the month of April and had beautiful weather. You are able to book tee times on the course and join some of the local golfers. During this trip to Japan I also played the renowned Hirono Golf Club which you can read about here.

Hole 1
The first hole is an uphill par 4 measuring 310 meters from the regular tees. It is a slight dogleg right to left with trees on both sides of the fairway. There is a well placed bunker on he right hand side and the approach shot is uphill to a green protected by bunkers.
I hit my driver and hit the fairway. rough and had a gap wedge to the green. I missed my approach shot into the bunker and made a bogey.
GOLF CARTS AT OSAKA GOLF CLUB
Osaka Golf Club has an automated golf buggy setup which is installed in the ground. The buggy fits 4 people and is very convenient. The course is quite hilly so it is a good setup.
HOLE 2

The second hole is another par 4 measuring 376 meters. I missed the fairway from the tee and reached the bunker on my approach shot. This resulted in a bogey on the second hole.
HOLE 3

The third hole is a great par 4 measuring 398 meters. It is severely down hill from the tee and the fairway is quite narrow. However you can get some good bounces from the sloping hills besides the fairway. The approach shot is also challenging as the green is well protected by bunkers. I managed to find the fairway from the tee by pulled my approach shot into the green side bunker. Another bogey on the card and I found bunkers on the first 3 holes.
HOLE 4

The 4th hole is the first par 3 on the course. It plays 147m and I hit a nice 8 iron just to left of the green. I got up and down for my first par of the round.
HOLE 5

Osaka golf club hole 5 is a really good par 5. It is some severe slopes and especially for the approach shot to the green. lt is playing 448m. I missed my tee shot into the right hand side rough and did not advance the ball well. I made a very poor. bogey on a fairly short and easy par 5.
HOLE 7

Hole 7 is a stunning par 4. The tee shot is blind and up hill. I missed my drive to the right but was far enough down to have a decent approach shot to the green. The views towards the green are spectacular. I really good hole and I made par.
HOLE 8

The 8th hole is a short par 4 playing just over 300m. It is a blind tee shot and I opted for the driver to try and get close to the green. I missed my tee shot to the left and hit my approach shot too far. Another bogey which was disappointing.
HOLE 9

The 9th hole is a par 5 playing 432m. The tee shot is downhill and the approach shot to the green is uphill. I missed the fairway right and was too aggressive with my second shot which ended up in the rough again. Another bogey mainly due to poor course management.
BACK NINE ON OSAKA GOLF CLUB
HOLE 10

The 10th is another par 5 with a blind uphill tee shot and approach shot downhill to the green. I hit a really good drive and had a 7 iron to the green. I missed the green right and only made par. The hole is a really good birdie opportunity which I did not capitalize on.
HOLE 13

The 13th was one of my favourite holes on the course. A risk reward par 4 where you need to decided on how much you want to cut the corner. After hitting my drive to far to the left, I made a great par save from the green side bunker. The views are just amazing from the green.
HOLE 14 - best par 3 on Osaka Golf Club

VIDEO HOLE 14
The 14th is a wonderful Par 3 with spectacular views. It is a fairly short hole and it was playing downwind. I hit a gap wedge and 2 putted for a par.
HOLE 15

The 15th is a 439m par 5. A very reachable par 4 if you hit the fairway. I missed it left and could not reach the green in 2 shots. I made par.
HOLE 18

The finishing hole is an uphill par 3. The wind was much stronger now as it had picked up during the day. I hit an 8 iron onto the green and 2 putted for par.
MY EXPERIENCE
Osaka Golf Club is a nice golf course and the location offers some great views. The course was not in its best condition which is probably due to being early in the season. I was happy with my back nine 37 after a disappointing front nine 44. The lunch after 9 holes was really good. The service was typically Japanese and very good.
