Lemuria is the only 18 hole golf course on the Seychelles and is located on the Island of Praslin. It is part of the Constance resort and the greenfee is included when you stay at the resort, however there is a buggy charge. They are currently building a driving range (June 2018) which we will be nice addition to the golf course.

clubhouse at Lemuria
the course

The course is short but very tight and with small greens. I used the opportunity to practice my irons and mainly played with long irons from the tee. I played from the white tees.
3rd hole at Lemuria
Above 3rd hole which gives a good idea of the kind of course Lemuria is. A narrow tee shot and dogleg left to right. Short but accuracy is the key.

The 5th is a short par 3 with water in front and to the right of the green. It was windy when I played and even though it is only a wedge, the green is relatively small.
Hole 6 at Lemuria
Above tee shot on 6th hole a short par 5 playing 450yards. Water all the up the left hand side and almost an island green.

Looking back down the 6th hole where you can see the small plane approaching from Mahe.
8th hole at Lemuria
8th hole a 165 yard par 3 downhill. One of my favorite holes on the course.

Tee shot on par 4 13th hole at Lemuria is severely uphill on the approach shot. Just an iron from the tee to leave yourself a short iron approach.
Hole 14 at Lemuria
14th is another uphill par 4 which again requires a accurate tee shot and good approach to narrow green.

Approach to 14th where you can just spot the flag.

best par 3

15th hole at Lemuria
15th is the signature hole on the course and rightly so. Not many better views in the world than this. It is a 45 yard drop from the white tee and just a flip of a wedge.

Video from 15th tee.

Tee shot on very narrow 16th which is a par 5.

Look back down 16th hole.
17th hole at Lemuria
17th a short downhill par 3.
18th hole at Lemuria
18th a good finishing hole with stunning views of the ocean. Again I just hit a iron from the tee for accuracy and 2 short irons to the green.

my experience

The course was undergoing renovation when I was there and a few holes were changed during the process. The course was not in very good shape with poor fairways that resulted in mud balls. Greens were fine and running well.
Overall it is worth playing especially if you are staying at the resort, but mainly the back nine 9 with the nice views and more spectacular holes. It is good practice for the iron game. Obviously the course is squeezed in on a beautiful island, so it is a different experience which is to be expected when visiting the Seychelles.
