Domaine Imperial is located on the west side of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Close to the city of Geneva and with a clubhouse that has beautiful views of the lake. I played the course during the month of July and had beautiful weather. The course is open to the public and tee times can be booked by contacting the course.
Driving range
The driving range is located a short walk from the clubhouse. It is always nice to visit a club where they have some decent facilities to warm up and good range balls stacked in pyramids.
Hole 1
The first hole is a par 5 slight dogleg left. Fairly straightforward opening hole and possible to reach in two a long drive. I made par after laying up to a short wedge distance.
HOLE 2
The second hole is a par 3 measuring 135 meters. I missed the tee shot in the bunker left and made bogey.
HOLE 3
The third hole is a great par 4 measuring 326 meters. It is a severe dogleg left to right. With a high tee ball you can take it over the corner on the right hand side of the trees, but obviously the more risky shot. As it is short hole, I played safe down to the corner and had a 9 iron left to the green.
HOLE 8
Domain Imperial hole 8 is a par 4. With a good drive you can catch the downslope in the fairway and leave a short shot to the green. There is a big bunker on the right hand side of the fairway which is where I hit my tee shot. Had to take a drop unfortunately and made bogey.
BACK NINE ON GOLF CLUB DU DOMAINE IMPERIAL
HOLE 11
The 11th is a par 4 with great views of the Mont Blanc in the background.
HOLE 14
Domaine Imperial 14th is a short par 4. I took the driver from the tee to get close to the hole and give myself an opportunity for birdie. Missed the putt for a good birdie opportunity after a couple of the goods shot.
HOLE 15
The 15th is a short downhill par 3 well protected with bunkers.
HOLE 16
Above a good view down the 16th hole. A really good par 5 with a blind tee shot and water in play towards the green.
HOLE 18
The 18th hole is a good finishing hole that leads you back down towards the lake. A short par 4 playing 314 meters.
MY EXPERIENCE
Golf Club du Domain Imperial is a nice golf course. The course was is decent condition. A few dry patches on the greens, but rolling well. The majority of the course is in the forest and you have limited views of the lake. There is some very good treelined holes and some nice walks between the holes in the forest. Overall a good experience and a place worth playing if you are in the area.
