Pacific Dunes

Pacific Dunes is part of the Bandon Dunes golf resort located in Oregon. The course is consistently ranked high on the world top 100 and I would definitely agree that it is a superb golf experience. See my reviews on Bandon Trails, Bandon Dunes and Old Macdonald

COURSE DETAILS

Par 71

Tom Doak

5.616m

Hole 1

The first hole at Pacific Dunes is forgiving from the tee and only playing 278m. Avoid the bunkers on the left should setup a good approach shot.

HOLE 2

The second hole is another par 4 measuring 306 meters. Well placed bunkers in the fairway. You start to get a view of the ocean in the background.

HOLE 3

3rd hole is a great par 5 measuring 435 meters. Wide fairway with bunkers in the middle to avoid. Decision to be made from the tee on which direction to take. I hit my tee shot on the right hand side of the bunkers and laid up. Made par.

HOLE 4

Pacific Dunes 4th hole is one of my favourite holes on the course. The views are just amazing. I hit my tee shot over the left hand bunkers and made par.

HOLE 5

HOLE 7

Hole 7 at Pacific Dunes is a stunning par 4. I missed my tee shot to the right which made it difficult to reach the green. Made bogey.

HOLE 9

BACK NINE ON PACIFIC DUNES

HOLE 10

HOLE 11

HOLE 12

The 12th is a par 5. Did not play the hole well. Had a lost ball in the bushes and made double.

HOLE 13

Pacific Dunes hole 13 is another great hole with beautiful views. I lost my drive left, but managed to make bogey with a penalty shot.

HOLE 14

HOLE 17

Hole 17th at Pacific Dunes is a long par 3 with deep bunkers on the left hand side of the green. I missed the green and made bogey.

MY EXPERIENCE

Pacific Dunes is one of my top experiences. I really enjoyed the course and we had amazing weather conditions. It is understandable that this course is highly rated with so many spectacular holes. My favourite is #4. I played well on the front nine, but really poorly on the back nine. Will be back to beat the score of 81.
