Old Macdonald is located in Oregon on the west coast of the United States and is part of the Bandon Dunes golf. Old Macdonald course is located within the resort and close to the sea. See my experience playing Bandon Dunes (link) , Bandon Pacific (link) and Bandon Trails (link).
HOLE 1
The opening hole is par 4 measuring 278 meters. Pretty straight forward hole that should be an easy start. I missed the fairway from the tee and was in the green side bunker in my second shot. I made bogey.
HOLE 2
Above view of the 2nd green with the old tree in the background. A mid iron par 3 where I hit the green but 3 putted for another bogey.
HOLE 3
The tee shot is blind on the 3rd. It is a short par 4 and downhill after the mount with the old tree. I took the driver and in the right hand rough close to the green. Hit a poor pitch shot and ended up with bogey again. Poor start to the round with 3 bogeys on the first holes.
HOLE 4
The 4th hole at Old Macdonald is long. I hit a really got couple of shots to get on the green in regulation and made my first par of the round.

I made a nice birdie on the 9th hole.
BACK NINE ON OLD MACDONALD

HOLE 13
The 13th is a short uphill par 4 but there are bunkers to be avoided if you try and get close to the green. I hit a good drive and had a short pitch to the green. Missed the green and made a poor bogey.
HOLE 17
The 17th is a 471m par 5. Plenty of bunkers on the way on the way to green. I played the hole well and made birdie.

Nice views of the 18th green.
MY EXPERIENCE
Old Macdonald was the first course I played during my trip to Bandon Dunes. I think it is a good course to start with and you get a an idea of what lies ahead with the next courses. I shot 79 which was good, but I did not play that well. It is not a very difficult course, but I also had reasonable wind conditions. The overall course condition was good.
