My interest in golf started when I was 20 years old and has developed throughout my life. I have set myself a lifetime goal to play the best courses around the world. I created MYGOLFJOURNAL to track my journey, share it and look back at the golf experiences I encounter during my life.
A part of this journey is playing the World Top 100 golf courses. You can see my progress here. I travel regularly and try to combine this with playing new courses. This is how the majority of my golf is played abroad.
In the beginning of playing these courses I usually collected some memorabilia each time. This has changed over time and now I mainly try and find some unique stuff from each place if there is something relevant. For example when you play Cruden Bay they give you a little bottle of whiskey or the guest tag you get when playing some of the private clubs. I have a golf room at home which you can see below.
My game & equipment
My golf game has developed over the past 20 years and with a hcp. of 4.8 my score is normally mid 70’s. I have had many lessons from some of the best in the world and this has helped me get a better understanding of my game. It has also given me the ability to fix some of the key issues with my swing as it tends to be the same challenges that reoccur. When I take lessons now they are mainly focused on specific parts of my game and often short game as this is where my score can improve most.
Trying new equipment is something I enjoy. I change gear regularly based on if I see something I like and if it performs better. Wedges are changed at least once a year. I also collect a few Scotty Cameron putters which you can see below. These are all custom design Scotty Cameron putters that I have purchased or have had made specifically.
